What are we looking for
Blind Burners is looking for design thinkers, welders, and Burning Man camp wizards to help customise our camp’s shipping container. We want the interior to be designed so that accessing our tents, bikes, shade structure, and artsy stuff is as smooth as shit off a ducks ass. And we want the exterior to be a shifting tapestry of art expressing our values and the colourful, tactile, playful identities of our friends.
Why
Imagine a burning man camp, led by a blind badass, with blind build and strike leads, blind event managers, blind artists, blind DJs, blind acro yoga teachers. How does this vision become reality? The foundation is a camp infrastructure which is clearly laid out and accessible. Burning Man thrives on chaos, and we will bring our fair share, but for our essentials such as tents, bikes, shade structures, kitchen, yoga kits, sound system and squish, we’d like these things to be easily accessible, so that any camp member can access equipment, and play a leading role in our camp.
What
Our shipping container is a 20 ft shipping container, like those used by many camps to store and transport camp infrastructure and transport it to the Black Rock Desert. The container is unpainted. [Insert description of interior and how people use them

Where
Our shipping container is stored in Reno near to the beautiful Truckee river.

Who
Blind Burners is an international group of artists, performers, builders, filmmakers and game developers. Chris Hainsworth is one of our Co-Founders from the UK,, and Chris Jeckel is one of our leaders in the USA. We began life as a group of friends organising online parties during lockdown. We evolved an off-playa mission to create non-visual Virtual Reality experiences, and to facilitate delegations of blind game developers to industry conferences. Like many burners, our work in the default world is inspired by the experiences and connections we create in the Black Rock Desert. We are based with Mobility Camp, a beautiful collective of folks pioneering accessibility on playa.
